Carolina Schutzer, aka DJ Cashu, is one of the key figures of São Paulo’s queer underground electronic music scene.
In an attempt to occupy and decentralise the São Paulo scene, DJ Cashu and Carneosso created the Mamba Negra collective. Their block parties, which usually take place in abandoned and uninhabited parts of the city, such as student and artist squats, push forward the fight for female representation and sexual and gender freedom.
The collective was formed in 2013 as a platform for live music and has since solidified into one of São Paulo’s main electronic music parties and expanded to become a label, agency and radio station.
Cashu has played in over fifteen cities and participated in several collectives that work to occupy, decentralise and hack the Brazilian night scene. She has recently performed at Sónar with Badsista, at the Dekmantel Festival in São Paulo, at Panorama Bar/Berghain, at the Red Bull Music Academy Festival in São Paulo, at the Coquetel Molotov Festival in Recife and at CCBB Música. Performance.
Doors open at 8.30 pm.
