The sound universe of Marta De Pascalis operates like a mysterious translator that freezes and expands emotions, capturing them in sonic landscapes. At La Terraza Magnética she presents her latest album, Sky Flesh, released on Caterina Barbieri’s light-years label.
Marta de Pascalis uses analogue synthesis, FM and tape loops to create patterns and carve wave forms, producing cathartic bodies of sound. With a Yamaha CS-60 synth, she traces unsettling and tempestuous atmospheric trajectories. Exploiting saturation and reverberation, and the expressiveness and timbre of the instrument, she paints poetic abstractions and labyrinthine structures.
Marta De Pascalis is an Italian musician and sound designer based in Berlin. She has performed at several festivals and venues, notably Berlin Atonal, Museo Reina Sofia, Biennale di Venezia, Berghain, Volksbühne, Café Oto, and Mutek Festival. To date she has released four solo albums: Quitratue (2014), Anzar (2016), Sonus Ruinae (2020) and Sky Flesh (2023).
