Shame. Curator: Ana Ara
This exhibition examines the concept of "shame" from a philosophical angle, through the complex relationship that exists between the subject and a body in constant decay.
In its universal and eternally modernisable dimension, shame is presented as one of the fundamental sentiments of being a subject and, at the same time, as an experience inherent to all artistic creation, in its oscillation between objectivisation and desubjectivisation.
Here, the private process consubstantial with shame becomes a collective exercise in which the spectator witnesses another person's emotion and believes it to be his or her own. In this context, each of the works on display exemplifies a particular aspect of the human condition.
