New edition, same formula: power + puberty. The Puwerty festival is back for its second run, giving creators between ages 12 and 25 a chance to be heard. Multiple disciplines converge at this event where young artists present their work to audiences of all ages.

Following the success of last year’s festival, where we danced and sweated to the rhythms of Nathy Peluso, discovered the sensory and sensitive Sant Miquel and rewrote our identities in a workshop with Celia Dosal, we’re gearing up for a new edition of Puwerty, the festival that debunks myths about youth with workshops, concerts and performances designed by and for teens.

We’ll start off the day with workshops led by Marina Short, where we’ll channel the DIY spirit to make our own cassette tapes, and illustrator María Rodilla, who will help us overcome our self-consciousness about drawing. The winner of the “Bandeja de Entrada” competition, visual artist Mar Reykjavik, will present her projection No Sé Dónde Estoy Solo Sé Que Estoy En Todas Partes, an ode to millennial culture. Music will be supplied by the Madrid-based trio Cariño and daniel daniel, and the festival will close with the Latin sounds and protest reggaeton of DJ Flaca.

Curated by: María del Río and Ángel Aranda
