Swedish millennial filmmakers Hannah Reinikainen Bergenman and Lia Hietala make their debut with a cinematographic video diary about Amber’s new life as a transgender person. Always Amber takes us to the heart of a utopian community of non-binary individuals, where Amber and her friends can live and express themselves freely, unhampered by society.
The film was premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale and subsequently screened at various festivals, winning Best Feature Film at Seoul IWFF 2020 and Best Documentary at Zinegoak 2021.
