Il Solengo, the Tuscan term for a lone boar separated from the herd, is the star of this film, featuring conversations and testimonials of people who knew Mario de Marcella, a woodland hermit. His story paints a grey picture, riddled with elusive patches, of the first half of the 20th century in Italy.
