This documentary narrates the history of Alejandro Jodorowsky's legendary Dune, arguably the most influential sci-fi film that was never made. The crew that developed the idea, first devised in 1975, included the illustrator "Moebius", who created the detailed storyboard that recreated the entire film. The project was abandoned for financial reasons.

Fran Pavich (United States, 1977), a film director and producer, made his debut in 1999 with the documentary N.Y.H.C. about the New York hardcore music scene. After spending most of his career developing television projects for companies like Showtime and HBO, in 2013 he presented his second full-length feature, Jodorowsky's Dune, at the Cannes festival. The film has won several international awards, including the Audience Award and Special Jury Mention at Sitges and Best Documentary at Fantastic Fest.
