Bi Gan (Kaili, China, 1989) is a Chinese director, screenwriter, photographer and poet. He was hailed as the “rising star of Chinese cinema” after his multi-award-winning debut film Kaili Blues premiered at the Locarno Festival in Switzerland in 2015. His acclaimed second feature film, Long Day’s Journey into Night, was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at last year’s Cannes Film Festival.
