Nelly is eight years old and has just lost her grandmother. As she helps her parents empty out the house where her mother grew up, she becomes intrigued by the nearby woods where her mother played as a child. There Nelly meets a girl of her own age and the bond between them leads to a beautiful friendship. Together, they build a cabin in the woods. As they play and share confidences, they uncover a fascinating secret. Despite the family circumstances, the trip becomes an exciting adventure for Nelly, who is thrilled to discover her mother’s childhood universe and, as a result, form an unusual, magical bond with her.
