The Iconography of Disaster: Shock Images and Activist Film
10 Mar 2017
Duration: | 2 hours |
These two films about the war in Syria were shot there and in Germany but have very different approaches. The first focuses on a family from Aleppo, on the victims and those who suffer, while the second shows us the secret, inaccessible world of three Al Qaeda suicide bombers in the north of that war-torn country. Both directors chose to depict the war without showing blood and gore.
