Duration: | 2 hours |
Before the festival begins, Aitana Cordero will listen, work and dialogue with different groups of people (diverse, complex, multi-generational groups) from the Madrid neighbourhood of San Cristóbal and from Carlos III University in Leganés and Getafe who aren't familiar with the performing arts in general or with the works that will be presented at the festival.
Each workshop consists of two sessions. The first will introduce participants to the physical strategies and worlds of Aitana’s work, playing with the accessible body, the non-victimised body, the constructing body, intimacy and constructive destruction. A celebration of how to be together. The second session, on the other hand, will take participants on a more theoretical journey, where Aitana will interweave her own interests and questions with those of the guest artists and other similar references that touch on and explore the themes and issues of the festival.
These workshops aim, among other things, to create an inventory of questions and reactions with new recipients, and to stimulate debate and build bridges, all with a view to constructing a space where we can explore and acquire new tools for sharing ourselves with other bodies.
The workshops will be held at Carlos III University in Getafe and Leganés on 18, 19, 20, 21 and 26 November, and at Casa San Cristóbal of Fundación Montemadrid on 19, 20 and 27 November.
