Using writing, signs, speech and movement, La doble sesión (Double Session) confronts us with a theatre of the impossible. A theatre that transcends the very nature of the event. A happening that can never be present, with an exorbitant temporality, always extending beyond the framework of the event in which it happens. A theatre tangled up in the (always double) writing in the margins.
Welcome to La doble sesión
La doble sesión is a double piece
A piece that takes place between two different sessions
Which in turn will take place on two different consecutive days
In this case, to be precise, on 9 and 10 June 2022
At La Casa Encendida, in the context of the Domingo festival
The first session is called Mañana (Tomorrow)
The second session is called Ayer (Yesterday)
It is “strictly” forbidden to attend both sessions
In other words:
If you decide to attend Mañana, you won't be able to attend Ayer.
If you're thinking of attending Ayer, you won't have been able to attend Mañana.
Norberto Llopis is a choreographer and performer working at the boundaries between dance and thought. He has a degree in dance and choreography from Institut del Teatre and a master's degree in performing arts from DasArts, Amsterdam, as well as a degree in philosophy from UNED (Spain’s distance-learning university) and a master’s in advanced philosophy from the Complutense University. He is currently writing his doctoral thesis on aesthetics in Derrida and Deleuze at Barcelona University. Working between Barcelona, Brussels and the Netherlands, his artistic practice ranges from body-based projects to the use of objects and materials to construct and reflect on space. In his philosophical work, he is trying to develop a non-theorising practice of thinking about space and the signs under which it is established. His work adopts the form of stage pieces, performances, installations, talks and texts in Spain, Brussels and the Netherlands. He has participated in creative processes with artists like Carolien Hermans, Paz Rojo, Diego Gil, Jefta Van Dinther, Nada Gambier, Rafael Tormo and Vicente Arlandis.
