"No @ Menos” by Yanel Barbeito and Omar Gómez
Within the programming of
IDEM 2018. International Performing Arts Festival
Yanel Barbeito, aided by her life partner and personal assistant Omar, created and developed a ground-breaking experience in Cuba by approaching dance through and with physical aesthetic diversity while still an active member of the Ballet de la Televisión Cubana, the second-oldest ballet company in her native Cuba.
This dance solo will be offered in a matinee session as part of Diver(ses)sion (performances for persons with severe disabilities and their companions) and in an afternoon session for the general public (*).
The 7 pm performance on Thursday 20 will be followed by a discussion with the audience.

(*) Diver(ses)sion: the last several editions of the IDEM Festival have included special matinee sessions of artistic proposals for persons with severe functional impairments and their relatives or companions. This year’s festival will continue the tradition, which we have called Diver(ses)sion. In these sessions, the viewing experience is much more relaxed and informal than usual to avoid unnecessary tensions. Spectators are free to enter and leave at any time, talk, move about and even join in the performance.
