For Madrid residents, finding a decent, suitable place to live is an increasingly difficult task. Housing policies implemented to date are inefficient, and socio-demographic dynamics pose new challenges due to the mismatch between types and locations of available houses and real needs.
We need to open a debate on how public interventions can be re-orientated towards a different residential model, one that will offer adequate housing for a different society.
Participants: Beatriz Corredor, former Spanish Minister of Housing and Registrar of Land Titles, and Arantxa Pascual, Director-General of Housing for the Alcalá de Henares City Council and former manager of the EMVS (Municipal Housing and Land Agency) of Madrid.
