The 2030 Agenda proposes a new social contract to promote a renewal of the government structures that rule our world. This is what is known as a new global alliance for sustainable development. Yet its optimistic reasoning cannot conceal the contradictions and challenges inherent to a world dominated by the hegemonic powers-that-be.
