Poverty isn’t just a lack of income. Behind GDP statistics, there are still millions of people who are denied the basic ability to lead a life of dignity with full rights and freedoms, who are discriminated against and excluded from political decisions, and who are directly exposed to violations of their civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
