One of the most acclaimed and ground-breaking voices on the Spanish contemporary music scene performs a new soundtrack for Picasso's work in an intimate show inside the exhibition space.

Blending pop, electronic and polyphonic traditional music, María Arnal takes us on a cosmic journey that reinterprets the figure of Pablo Picasso.

María Arnal (Barcelona, 1987) has taken part in projects like the sound piece AIR for the 2021 Venice Biennale and SIRENA for the 2022 Hipermirador Torre Glòries, a generative choral piece that reacted in real time to Barcelona big data, collaborating on both occasions with the producer John Talabot. With the curator Jose Luis Vicente, she co-directed the sound essay Cada capa de l’Atmosfera (Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona-CCCB, 2022), which connected sound awareness with the climate emergency and was nominated for two ONDAS awards. She is currently investigating the potential of AI-generated synthetic voice models in a project with Spain’s National Supercomputing Centre that will be presented in October 2023 at the CCCB. She is also composing her next album, which will be her first solo LP.

She has released two critically acclaimed LPs with Marcel Bagès and has performed at some of the most iconic festivals, including Sónar 2022 where she presented her Hipertutopia show with the Orfeó Català Girls’ Choir.
