This piece can be experienced in two different ways: watching a 5-hour performative installation on militarism and war, or playing a video game.

The Automated Sniper video game
For 15 minutes, you will have a weapon in your hands that you must learn how to use. A voice will guide you as you play. Afterwards, follow the directions to see the outcome of your game. To participate, you must purchase a ticket at the Information Desk of La Casa Encendida or via the Eventbrite link on this page.

The Automated Sniper installation
Over the course of 5 hours, different performers will have to confront a weapon they cannot see. We invite you to witness their struggle. You can come and go as you please. Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis.
Julian Hetzel works as a performance maker, musician and visual artist. He develops works at the intersection of theatre, music and media that have a political dimension and a documentary approach. He is the artistic director of ... ism & ... heit, a foundation based in Utrecht.
Activity organised in collaboration with ESNE, the University School of Design, Innovation and Technology. The performers are Design and Video Game Development undergraduates who have worked with the author of the piece. The wardrobe was designed by students from the school’s BA in Design programme.
