This space offers tools for transforming garments through small alterations and repairs.
Planeta Dots is a brand that uses spare fabrics as the raw material for creating new garments and accessories.
They also strive to spread this practice through travelling sewing workshops where waste becomes a commodity. Aboard their caravan, they tour towns and cities, bringing a sense of sustainability to our wardrobes.
They will run three public workshops during the marathon:
- Saturday 18 from 12 noon to 2 pm: Making an organiser from denim pockets
- Saturday 18 from 5 to 7 pm: Mending and customising garments
- Sunday 19 from 11 am to 1 pm: Making a mini-tapestry with the boro technique and spare fabrics
Open to everyone who wants to experiment and learn. No prior knowledge of sewing is required.
