A dance session from one of the most exciting DJs on the scene. La Niña Jacarandá’s sets include a wide range of electronic beats mixed with Caribbean sounds.
In her live performances, La Niña Jacarandá plays with the entire catalogue of vibes that straddle ambient, reggaeton and deconstructed club (which takes apart and reconfigures the typical conventions of club music), creating a political dimension for her explosive mix.
Based in Barcelona, she is the founder of the non-binary feminist DJ school Sin Sync. Her latest project, Sexspiritual, was presented last year at the Loop Festival and the Sónar Latinx Club, and her sessions have been heard at venues like Razzmatazz, Apolo, Dabadaba and Macao, as well as on radios and media like Dublab, Betevé, Primavera Sound, Boiler Room and Musicbox (Lisbon).
Isamit Morales, alias La Niña Jacarandá, is a Chilean-Venezuelan visual artist, producer and DJ. As an educator, she has created at Sin Sync a safe place to offer introductory courses for new talents. The school embodies the place she missed during her teenage years, on both a physical and emotional level, where the main aim is for pupils to learn how to create their own distinct language through electronic music. The day before this performance, she will run a workshop entitled Learn to deejay with La Niña Jacarandá in Tower I at La Casa Encendida.
The En Familia programme is aimed at children so all attendees, regardless of age, have to buy a ticket.
Adults must be accompanied by a child to take part in this activity.
Recommended age: 5 and up.
