Teenagers Alessandro and Pietro are inseparable friends in Naples. They accept the director’s proposal to film themselves with an iPhone, commenting live on their own daily experiences, their close friendship, their neighbourhood, and the shared tragedy of the killing of an innocent friend by the police.
Filmmaker, artistic director and musical producer Agostino Ferrente (Italy, 1971) founded Pirate Manifatture Cinematografiche in 1992, which produced his short films Poco più della metà di zero (1994) and Opinioni di una pirla (1995). He started making documentaries in 1999, the first of which, Il Film di Mario, was screened at the Turin Film Festival. The following year he presented Intervista a mia madre (1999) and was invited to numerous international festivals. Next came L'orchestra di Piazza Vittorio (2006), Le cose belle (2013) and his latest documentary, Selfie (2019), which won the Best Documentary prize at the David di Donatello Awards, Italy’s most prestigious film accolades.
